Pittsburg is the county seat for Camp County, Texas, which is located in East Texas. In 2000, the population of Camp County was 11,549 people, with 4,347 living in the town of Pittsburg. Agribusiness, chicken processing, light manufacturing, and the timber industry are the key elements of Camp County's economy. Poultry and poultry products, beef, dairy cattle, horses, peaches, hay, blueberries, and vegetables were the chief agricultural products.
